When I first saw the ring pillow above featured on Weddings Unveiled from Freshline I knew I was in love and had to feature it. It's not only cute and creative but it will serve as a wonderful reminder of your wedding day as you display it on your bed or couch after the day has past. I love wedding items you can cherish that are also functional as well. And the colors are what inspired this color board.

The best part about these colors is that they are not only fabulous for weddings, they go great for birthday parties and celebrations as well. Reds and blues go so well together in so many different shades. I love how rich each of these colors can be and combining them only enhances that richness.

Greens and Greys – Inspiration from a Water Bottle {Color Board #5}

Sometimes it's pretty weird where we get inspiration for certain things. This week's color board was inspired by my water bottle. Mine is more like the green and grey one with swirls here but I couldn't find any for sale anymore. I just love it's design and color and thought it'd be cool to see what a wedding would be like if we paired the colors of the bottle with wedding items.

Aren't these grey Manolo Blahnik shoes just gorgeous? Now if only they were on sale... I kid, I kid! I could never spend that much on one pair of shoes. Those shoes are actually more than I paid for my wedding dress. Seriously. Not that I wouldn't have loved to spend more on a wedding dress but I was really good at sticking to my budget. Now back to these colors. I can picture a cool fall evening outside under the stars. Maybe at winery or a ranch. Filled with trees and green scenery. So pretty.

Masculine & Feminine – Teal and Pink {Color Board #4}

I enjoy seeing a contrast in colors when I see what brides choose as their color scheme. And I love when soft pinks and bright pinks are mixed with teals and blues. The brightness of these colors together just makes everything pop. And most see gender roles assigned in these colors. The teals are more masculine and the pinks are more feminine. So when both sides are represented it creates a kind of equality for the whole design.

Not that having all feminine colors or all masculine colors is bad, it's just that using these to balance one another out really makes for a beautiful backdrop. And the fact that there are so many shades to choose from and combine only helps create originality for a wedding or event.

Night and Day – Yellows and Grays {Color Board #3}

I am loving the yellows and grays I see pop up everywhere. It's a fabulous combination that really gives a nice contrast of color. From the brights to the darks, you can play up these color combos however you'd like. If you prefer softer, muted colors you can go to the lighter grays and yellows and if you like bright, eye popping colors you can pick more vibrant yellows with different shades of dark and light gray.

Did you know that there's two ways to spell gray? Yup, the English version and the American version. I'm constantly pausing to think how to spell the word. Totally confused me as I was writing up this post! Grey is used primarily in areas that use UK English. Gray is used primarily in areas that use US English. What way to you prefer to spell it?

Feathered With Delight – Greens, Blues and Pinks {Color Board #2}

One of my favorite birds is the peacock. They are just magnificent. The different shades of blue and green mixed in with the browns leaves a palette of it's own to base a whole party off of. And any male who tries that hard to impress a female is good in my book! Adding a bit of honeysuckle or lavender to the blues and greens just ties everything in and makes it a bit more feminine.
