Aren’t these glow jars sublime? We found the tutorial over on Intimate Weddings. They take about two minutes to make and cost only 20 cents a piece. How’s that for an enticing DIY project? These would look amazing at an evening outdoor wedding. Line walkways with them, or place them on tables. Or you could easily use them as decorations for Halloween. Line the pathway to your home for an eerily beautiful look.

You could also use glow-in-the-dark paints to make the glowing effect last a bit longer. Or different shaped glass jars to change things up. All in all this is a very simple DIY project that most any adult could do. And the results are fantastic! Sure to impress any guests and leave them wondering how you did it.

Make sure to check out Intimate Wedding's DIY Wedding section on their website. They have some great ideas on ways for you to add those personal touches to your special day.

DIY Glow Jars Tutorial

For each glow jar you will need:

a jar

two Glow Sticks (check out your local 99 cent store)

scissors

rubber gloves

safety glasses

Disclaimer: This is a project meant to be done by an adult – not a child!

Purchase Glow Sticks and dig a jar out of your cupboard.

Grab two glow sticks and cut at one end. Make sure they are inside the jar when you cut them. I used rubber gloves because I didn’t want to get the glowing liquid on my hands.

Shake each glow stick while holding inside jar until contents are empty. You will notice little pieces of what looks like plastic along with the liquid. One reader said this is actually glass, so be careful. You will dump these out later.

Head to your garbage and dump out the little pieces of plastic. Swirl liquid around the jar.

That’s it. You’re done! Go and find a dark place and enjoy the glow! (Note: These will glow for about an hour.)

The post Glow Jars {Intimate Weddings DIY Tutorial} appeared first on Cherish Paperie.

We are always looking for ways to use up the paper scraps that we have left over from projects, orders and samples we create. So when we stumbled upon this beautiful picture from Scrapbooks Etc on Pinterest we knew we had to try some out on our own. We'll be showing off the results in early December with a few other DIY projects we've been working on. Stay tuned!

Here are the directions we went off of from the Scrapbooks Etc post:

Scalloped Puffs

Punch five scalloped circles from cardstock.

Soak the circles in water for a few minutes.

Remove the scalloped circles from the bowl and blot the excess water with a paper towel.

Stack the five scalloped circles and stick a brad through the center.

Beginning with the top layer, scrunch all the sides up together. Repeat with each layer until the flower is formed. Let it dry completely.

Fringed Flowers

Cut a long strip of cardstock, and fringe-cut 2/3 of one side.

Gently fold down the first few fringed pieces on one end and begin rolling strip with these folds inside.

Once rolled, gently fold back all remaining fringes outward and add an adhesive dot at the end of the strip to secure.

Spiral Flowers

With a pencil, lightly draw a 4″ circle and a spiral from the outside to the center of the circle. (Increase or decrease the size of the circle to change the size of the resulting flower.)

Cut out the spiral using decorative-edge scissors. Be sure the decorative edge faces the outside of the circle.

Bend the tips of the decorative-edge down and roll into a spiral, beginning at the outer end of the spiral. Be sure to bend the tips toward the side with pencil marks (so they will be hidden on the back of the flower). Let the flower relax and adhere at the center/end of the spiral to secure.

The post DIY Paper Flowers {Scrapbooks Etc DIY Tutorial} appeared first on Cherish Paperie.

This project is simple, versatile and gorgeous. Some have mentioned that they have had luck using styrofoam balls and pins instead of the lantern and glue gun so it's really up to you to choose what method you best like for the project.

I plan on using these to decorate the house for an upcoming party I'm hosting in the colors of the party. I think that these will give that little pop of color that I need without breaking the bank! These poms are the perfect substitution for pew bows or hanging flower balls for the flower girls at a wedding, hanging decorations at a shower or party and much more. Even the adults were talking about how cute and practical they were.

These customizable cones are the perfect addition to any party and the best part is that after the first set of cones are gone you just need to pop a few more cones on the sticks to refill the tray. Convenient and cute! If you would like Cherish Paperie to customize some popcorn cones for your next event contact us today!

You’ll Need:

gift wrap, decorative or customized paper

lollipop sticks or small wooden dowels (we used small wooden skewers from Smart&Final - meant for corn on the cob)

craft styrofoam sheets – approx 1″ thick

shallow tray or vase/container (we used a photo box from Michaels)

candy/treats for the cones

candy/treats to cover the styrofoam

tape, glue stick & scissors

Directions

For the Paper Cones:

Download or create a template for the cones. (You can download the one we used here. It makes 5″ cones.)

Trace the cone template onto the paper, then trim out. Repeat as many times as you need.

Roll the trimmed paper into a cone shape, making sure there’s enough of a hole left in the bottom of the cone for the lollipop stick. Secure the cone shape with a piece of tape on the inside, and use the glue stick to make the outer edge lie flat.

For the Party Display:

Cut a piece of the styrofoam sheet to fit securely within your tray or vase/container.

Place the styrofoam in the container, then insert the lollipop sticks into the foam, leaving a few inches in between the sticks to make room for the cones. (You can insert the sticks in neat rows or in a random configuration – whichever you prefer!)

Pour candy or popcorn on top of the styrofoam until it is completely covered (we used Good & Plenty's)

Fill each paper cone with candy, popcorn, or another treat, then slide them onto the lollipop sticks.

The post Pirate Booty Popcorn Holders {DIY Party Stationery and Decor} appeared first on Cherish Paperie.
