Sweet Owl Birthday Party Decor

A child's first birthday is a momentous occasion and should be celebrated as such! A Dol or doljanchi is a Korean tradition that celebrates the first birthday of a baby. This ceremony blesses the child with a prosperous future and has taken on great significance in Korea. From big milestones and transforming from infant to toddler quickly, a child's first birthday means so many things. So when we were asked to print up some adorable stationery for Haven's Sweet Owl birthday party we just couldn't resist the cuteness! Even though Haven is baby #3, her parents didn't slow down one bit for this grand occasion. From an amazing sweets table to clever crafts and party favors, this party was one big hit after another.

Sweet Owl Birthday Party Decor

The guests were greeted with bits of whimsical beauty everywhere. From the gorgeous purple and ivory stationery to the pops of green throughout, this party reminded us of spring and was ever so fitting for a celebration of the first year of life. We fell in love with the cute owl masks the kids made at the crafts and activities table.

The spread at the dessert table wow'd us. From cake pops to sweet treats to the gorgeous cake adorning the center of the table, everything was absolutely perfect.

The favors were just as amazing - owl journals for each guest. So creative. And the guest book was the perfect keepsake for the family. Each guest provided a thumbprint and their name. What a great way to preserve the memories of this special day.

Hawaiian Luau Birthday Party Ideas for Kids

Our very own Adrienne, owner of Cherish Paperie, hosted an amazing Hawaiian Luau themed birthday party for her daughter. Not only did the party turn out fabulous, but Adrienne has some great hawaiian luau birthday party ideas for kids that you are sure to love! The guests were greeted at the door and welcomed with an aloha feel as soon as they came in and were invited to hula hoop in the backyard. All around the room were beautiful hibiscus flowers and decorations making the whole party feel as if it were an island getaway. The relaxed atmosphere and inviting décor were perfect for a pre-teen’s party.

1. The Cake

Everything revolved around this gorgeous cake. The birthday girl really wanted a multi-tier cake for her birthday. So we went in search for awesome ideas and got in touch with Cupcakes Couture of Manhattan Beach to see what they could come up with. What they designed was breathtaking! Not only was the cake adorned with a hula girl’s get-up, it was also topped with beautiful sugar hibiscus flowers. The colors chosen for the cake were rich and vibrant to match the invitations that Cherish Paperie designed. We wanted something in “girl” colors that were also tropical and vibrant, but that we hadn’t really seen for a tropical luau before.

2. Activities

Different game “stations” were distributed thought the house and yard. Each activity station was staged at different parts of the home and patio so that each child could participate in the activities as they pleased. A hula hoop contest, tropical dress up relay race and a table set up for making Leis. Girls chose their favorite flowers and beads to lace onto a string. Once the girls were fitted with their party leis they started their fun by indulging in some delicious food and drink. Once their bellies were full it was time for some hula dancing! The most exciting part of the party was watching TUPUA Productions perform the hula. There was a “emcee” who explained each dance we learned along with a little bit of history. He also played the drums and guitar and Uke, while a female dancer performed each move and helped the girls to learn everything. We received a performance and a couple of hula lessons in various dance styles, and were able to perform the hula a few times until we were confident in our hula skills. The birthday girl was even able to do a solo act for the crowd. After all of the energy spent hula dancing we came in for some yummy cake and presents.

3. The Food

Going along with the Hawaiian theme the kids snacked on fresh fruit, mini Hawaiian pizzas, pigs in a blanket, festive multicolor of goldfish and popcorn cones filled with pirates booty. In addition to the tasty cake each of the kids went home with a cake pop made by Cupcakes Couture. A table skirt from Party City was used as the backdrop/banner for the food and dessert table, and the windows and walls were adorned with large paper flowers and sticker clings from the 99 cent store to carry the festive vibe thought the rooms.

So many elements of the party came from inspiration that were found at HWTM, including the popcorn cones that we filled with pirates booty and décor ideas for the banner and favor tags, and Adrienne was so glad to have such a wonderful resource to help plan my little girl’s special day. Mermaid Under the Sea {Children’s Birthday Party}

It all starts with the invitation. Adrienne had so much fun helping Christina of Dolce Design Studios design a sweet mermaid invite for her 4 year old daughter's Under-The-Sea birthday celebration. The one rule Christina had – nothing Disney’s Ariel. We definitely got our pin on when it came to sharing ideas! Finally Christina gave in and decided we were going to go for it and really knock it out of the park for Tessa. I think she definitely succeeded! From the small details at the food table to the gorgeous tablescapes created at the desserts station, this party was definitely one of a kind. The mermaid theme carried on throughout the party and we had an absolute blast coordinating the paper goods with the under-the-sea creations Dolce Design Studios came up with. From bubbles, to face paint, to cake pops that would knock your socks off, this was a party to remember! Not only was there everything for the kids but the adults as well. Aloha Birthday Party Sneek Peak {Huntington Beach Stationery Designer}

This past Friday we partook in a very special birthday party. Adrienne's daughter, Kenna, celebrated her 10th birthday in style with an Aloha themed party that included lei making, hula lessons, and an awesome cake from Cupcakes Couture of Manhattan Beach.
