Meet Our Team – Adrienne Coerper {Cherish Paperie Co-Owner/Designer}

Adrienne has always been fascinated with paper; always doing stamp projects, making cards for her many pen pals, and practicing handwriting, calligraphy and art. Her 8th grade science project was “Can I make paper out of trash?” using lint from the dryer, she did make some soft cotton paper, for which she won 2nd place!

But it was while working for a computer consulting firm in June 1993 that she realized she could do much, much more. She started as a receptionist, doing general office work at first. After a few months, and as luck would have it, the boss asked her to learn PageMaker so she could start doing some in-house graphics and marketing materials. Soon she was hooked, taking any graphics courses she could find at local colleges, and picking up Photoshop, Illustrator and starting what would become a vast collection of fonts and graphics.

By 1994, she was doing various flyers and mailers. And friends starting asking for help in doing brochures for their businesses and other marketing materials. January 1995 turned out to be a turning point, when a long-time friend asked her to do a wedding program for her upcoming wedding. That was it, she was hooked on all things weddings. She began doing programs for her church and then various local churches began referring her as well. And when her own wedding came around in 1997 she was thrilled to be able to do everything from the invitations to the favor tags.

The internet was just beginning to take off during this time and her managers asked her to start learning web design and html. So as her practice site www.custom-programs.com was born. The business quickly took off and in 2004 she quit her job to make Custom Programs a full time endeavor. It is currently owned & operated full time (and sometimes after hours too!) by Adrienne and her husband, Chris. Even their 3 children sometimes help out while on school breaks, putting together sample packets and lacing ribbons!

The site and company have undergone many changes throughout the years, adding products and services as the customer demands better quality and faster service. The latest one being the company name change just this past spring to Cherish Paperie. Adrienne still enjoys working directly with her customers and giving them the personal service some of the larger stationery companies no longer offer. She continues to bring a passion for the wedding industry and everything “pretty” and is always looking for ways to add services and grow the company.

Meet Our Team – Chris Coerper {Cherish Paperie Production Manager/Co-Owner}

If you had told Chris 14 years ago when he married Adrienne he would be making wedding programs and tying ribbons, he would have scoffed. Trained as a police officer, he was forced to switch careers after injuring his back during a training exercise. He was hired by Willamette Ind. as an ink technician, and worked on color matching and mixing and weighing industrial flexo inks for corrugated boxes.

He continued on with the company even as it under went changes and was eventually purchased by Weyerhauser. By then he had worked his way up to be superintendent of the ink plant, but was coming home every night to help Adrienne in the studio, where they would sometimes work until 2am to fill the orders that were coming in.

By 2005, they realized they couldn’t keep up this pace and took the plunge to make Custom Programs a full time business for them both. He brings vital knowledge and muscle to the production line, as well as a wonderful eye for detail to all our assembly work.

Meet Our Team: Diane Klumb {Cherish Paperie Stationery Designer}

Diane Klumb - Stationery Designer

Diane joined Custom Programs in November 2008 after taking time off from the sign business to be a stay at home mom and part-time dance and gymnastics teacher. Diane is a professional graphic designer with over 20 years of experience in the field. Beginning her career in the sign industry in 1987 she developed her skills and talents creating signs, banners, menu boards and logos for thousands of satisfied customers; so it wasn’t too much of a stretch to apply her design skills to the paper industry.

Diane’s official title is “designer” but takes care of everything from fulfilling sample orders to helping out in the production studio and styling photo shoots. You name it, Diane can do it! Luckily Diane thrives on juggling a wide variety of tasks and making sense out of the occasional chaos of our active studio.

She has designed many of Cherish Paperie's wedding set collections and is great at monogram and logo ideas. Diane also does a lot of the invitation and program assembly. No one can tie 150 ribbons into perfect bows on a program that look exactly the same like Diane. Working with ribbon and rhinestones is one of her specialties.

She first got her creative inspiration from her mother and her love for making hand crafted gifts. Even as a young child she was always getting into Mom’s craft cupboard! Throughout her high school and college years Diane spent most of her time in the art room doing paper mache’, frosted mirror designs cut by hand and working with ceramics. In recent years she has had fun making quilts and knitting scarves for the ones she loves. She has also enjoyed an 8 year career in elite gymnastics and ballet and spent some time as a preschool dance teacher as well. She also has an eye for interior design and even practices on her own home.

Diane now lives in Seal Beach, CA and owns the very home she grew up in. She has also had the privilege of raising her beautiful daughter Kayla in the family home, who is now 19 years old and attending a local college. She also enjoys designing from her home office for Cherish Paperie and spending time with her mini-dachshund dog named Liberty. Diane is very excited to be a part of all the changes and new designs happening here at Cherish Paperie!

Meet Our Team – Danielle Simmons {Cherish Paperie Social Media Coordinator}

Custom Programs is growing again! We have brought on a fabulous addition to our team....meet Danielle Simmons!

Danielle will be acting as our social media coordinator. She’ll be keeping our blog updated as well as being available on twitter and facebook. She has a lot in store to keep our blog not only up and running but also up to date with the current trends and the latest information. We are very thankful to have her working on keeping our customers up to date on our blog, facebook page and twitter.

Danielle loves creative details and embellishments that make any event or occasion truly special. She currently stays at home part time with her two children, ages 2 and 8 weeks, and loves keeping up with the latest in blogging, party planning and networking. While creating invitations for her own wedding and announcements for her children's births, baptisms and birthdays, she found that she loved the customization that came with using a WAHM business instead of a large retailer. Danielle's interests span from cooking, baking, crafting and much more.
